Day Pints

Every year my other half and I go through the battle that we call Valentine’s Day.  The challenge? Who can best the other person in the ultimate contest of gift giving and who can find the best Valentines Card.

Last year I won by a landslide. How you ask? Well, the night before Valentines I secretly packed our bags, passports and loaded them into the car in preparation for a last minute getaway to Egypt. The morning after I had managed to convince my girlfriend at the time (now fiancé) that I’d completely forgotten and we’d have to settle for meal anywhere that wasn’t fully booked.

We both got into the car and I said I’d take us for a meal in London to make up for my forgetfulness. She started getting a little bit suspicious when I took a wrong turn on the M25 and ended up heading towards Luton but successfully managed to blame the mistake on the sat-nav.

Once we had arrived at the airport it was of course impossible to cover up our true destination but surprisingly my misses didn’t mind – funny that.
